ANT and Dec WILL bring back Saturday Night Takeaway, TV Biz can reveal.

The pair, who are in contract talks with ITV, are determined to make sure the show returns.

But they may not bring it back before 2011 as the lads, both 33, are developing a new Sunday night show that has both ITV AND BBC excited. Its working title is The Show Wot We Wrote - based on a catchphrase from their heroes Morecambe and Wise.

A pal said: "The boys definitely want Takeaway to come back. It's a really important show to them.

"Even though they're working on a new format it wouldn't cancel out another series of Takeaway." The new Sunday show will be made by their firm Gallowgate, just like Takeaway - which was hit by a phone-rigging scandal in 2007.

The Geordie pair also have to decide whether to stay on an exclusive handcuffs deal with ITV - or a contract that lets them work for other channels. Their £20million three-year deal ends later this year.

They are due to launch their autobiography Ooh! What a Lovely Pair in September.

thanks so much for sharing that with us. I'm so glad that it should be returning although i didn't expect it to say 2011 but it will be great to see what their new show has in store, it has been a while since any new shows and it'll be nice to have something to watch on a Sunday too Smile

It would be nice for them to work with other channels although the BBC hasn't treated them very well in the past and they have been with ITV for a while now. Anyway, thanks again for that great piece of info and i can't wait to see what develops Very Happy

According to this report though SNT has not been recommissioned.
