Would you want Ant & Dec on your bank note?

We’re used to seeing famous faces on our bank notes, but it tends to be faces from the distant past.
Following the news that future £50 notes will feature Scottish engineer James Watt and Matthew Boulton and that Henry VIII will appear on limited edition £5 coins, new research by The Co-operative Bank Current Accounts has revealed who the nation really wants to see on our bank notes.

So here are the top ten faces you’d like to see in your wallet:

- Prince William (14.5%)
- Stephen Fry (10.9%)
- Ant & Dec (8.6%)
- Prince Charles (7.8%)
- Richard Branson (5.1%)
- David Beckham (4.6%)
- Simon Cowell (4.5%)
- Bruce Forsyth (3.2%)
- Cheryl Cole (3%)
- Boris Johnson (2.2%)

But the study also questioned just how important bank notes are in our modern plastic society. The poll revealed that when spending more than five pounds, more than half (52%) of Brits prefer to use their cards instead of cash.

I personally think that to have Ant & Dec on bank notes would be amazing Very Happy

..which is why i was a bit shocked when i first came across this info..haha..i also wonder what Ant & Dec themselves would think if this became reality..hehe..anyway just wanted to let you all know about it and wonder what your views are on the matter Smile

Might be cool to have Ant and Dec on stamps not sure about bank notes that should be left for historic figures

Yeah..you have a point Eric..might not be very suitable for bank notes although i wonder why else would someone would have started this survey if it hadn't been considered..and actually i'm now trying to imagine what it would look like to have Ant & Dec on a bank note and although i like the idea..it would be quite odd i suppose..unless they produced a certain number of limited edition ones for people to get their hands on..i'd definitely buy one..and yeah stamps would be quite cool..that's the thing really there are plenty more designs available when it comes to stamps..i really don't agree with some of the other names on that survey though

Since its a rule that you have to be dead to appear on a stamp/bank note (apart from the Queen) id rather not have the lads on either...!

Ahh..didn't think of that..i've changed my mind now..haha

I like the idea of Ant and Dec on stamps too, the only thing is, I wouldn't want to use them haha! Wink

But as you said they have to be dead to be on stamps, doesn't sound too good after all.

haha..i never really thought of the licking part of it but i wouldn't want to use them anyway..thanks for that link Eric..that bank note looked great and that's the sort of thing i was on about..i had a quick look on there and they had all sorts of designs..if they were to produce some Ant & Dec bank notes like that then that would be great Very Happy

I'm sure there was a Cat Deeley bank note on ebay before but i may have dreamt that

I've just had a look at the other bank notes..there's loads available..in fact i've found a couple of other ones that i'm interested in although unfortunately nothing to do with Ant & Dec..i did search for a Cat Deeley one for you but had no luck..i would think they'd make one sometime and i'd hope they'd produce Ant & Dec ones too whether they're individual or a joint one..they should do really when you see some of the other ones they've come up with

Thanks for the link, that is an idea however i will not be able to purchase the program as i don't have a PayPal account..i've just been on Ebay and i sent a message asking if it would be possible to make any requests..i'll let you know how i get on Smile
