Has anyone else read about the Helicopter crash yesterday?
This only happened about 43 miles away from where i live. And Aberdeenshire has lost 8 people on board. (4 from other parts of scotland, 3 from england/wales & 1 from europe) But the whole of the city & shire will be affected as we are so use to everything to do with the oil industry, its a way of life up here. Everyone knows someone involved in the industry.
2 months ago we were celebrating the fact that 18 people lived when one came down in fog. We don't have any incidents with helicopters in years and then 2 in 2 month. I work in a hotel and we have loads of rig workers staying with us and the atmosphere in the hotel as it unfolded on sky news was just so eerie and quiet. The whole city seems quietier too. There are still 6 missing but hope is fading for them as their survivor suits only keep them alive for about 90 mins.
Usually things like crashes don't affect me but when its so close to home and involves something you see everyday, it makes you stop and listen.
I know this doesn't really have nowt to do with anything on here but it was nice to let it all out.
