Ok I have this pop idol book from series 2, few mentions of the lads, I think some of the older members will have this but here it is for the new fans Very Happy

I wish I could find book 1 as it says alot of swears from the lads saying "why the f..are they upset, they chose to do this"

So these are little mentions and quotes.

Ant and Dec part-own a grayhound called angel of the north. Day three of manchester ausitions, its running a race in Oxford. The production team bet over £100 on it to win. Simon puts a bet on the favourite and wins. "I'll take my winnings and buy a greyhound, and get the best greyhound trainer in the world. Then I'll make it run in all the races against yours, and it will always beat you.

Ant and Dec are in a chirpy mood. They spent most ssome of tuesday Texting ITV2 things like "ant and Dec are soooooooo fit!" and seeing their words broadcasted over Kate thornton's show.

Ant mcpartlin is in the corner talking to Kate. "I went to a christening last weekend" he says "and a woman came up to me and said "OK,so who wins pop idol" I told her that its no where near the final vote. "yeah yeah" she said and didnt believe me! she thought it was a fix!"

What qualities do you need to be in pop idol?

Dec: I think clean teeth and smart hair are a good start, heh heh! Like your going to a job interview.
Ant: I think the viewers like people who are over-awed by the experience. who are quite innocent to it. You see some of them get up there and sing, and then we interview them and theysay "It's brilliant, Ive never experienced anything like this before. It endears with them to the viewers.

Are the public more sophisticated in the way they're voting this time?

Dec: I do think so. People are alot more strategic with their votes, in a way. We've seen a lot more of people not bothering to vote, thinking that their favourite will be all right. Thats cool, but at the end of the day we want to find a pop idol who people will think is the best.
Ant: And this year goes on performances as well. If you have a bad week you really could go out. Last year will, gareth and Darius had their own fanbases, who voted for them however they did. if they had a didgy week they'd still get votes.

Who's a good popidol now?
Ant: I think Robbie Williams is a great pop idol. You get everything with him:
Controversy; great quotes; he's had success and failure. His personal life has been up and down as well. The british public specially like people who've been there, lost it all, then come back again....Kylie is good too!
Dec: I agree

How would you advise the contestants to cope with fame?
Ant: The main thing is to enjoy your self

But you can enjoy yourself being a diva and ordering everyone around?

Dec: if thats what it takes, hahah! Be yourself, its a fantastic opportunity that not many people will get. I dont think you should ever forget how lucky you are.
Ant: You can very quickly become cynical about it, because you can suddenly see the other side of the music industry. Try not to let it happen.
Dec: You never know whats going to happen tomorow. People could stop buying your records, or you could leave your house and get hit by a bus. So enjoy every day. Some days are harder then others. You might have photographers following you, that's all part and parcel of what you're doing, but don't...
Ant.....Whinge.

Ant and Dec are wandering around, ready to rehearsals. "I've been reading the first few chapters of the book" says dec, who sees a copy before it goes to print. "It's a real page turner!"
