Tv recently has gotten so lazy i mean the 2 saturday night shows on the beeb recently have been stolen from programmes in japan (that one on at the mo thats basically takeshis castle for example) and itv isnt much better, i mean come on were gonig back to the 90s and bringing back krypton factor and family fortunes...we seem to have reached a creative wall at the mo

i dont mind them remaking shows as long as they are good

people are more likely to watch an old style show they remember than a new one so if they did remake a few shows that got big ratings that could boost the advert revenue and mean more money for the lads

it would make more sence if they gave Ant and dec loads of money and made them work more Laughing

SNT could be on every week and Sundays too Very Happy

the problem with remaking shows is its never as good as you remember it, id hate fo rthe lads and cat to go back and remake smtv, because it just gets ruined, i think people forget its the context of when the show was that made it good.

I think itv should be concentrating on making shows that 10 years down the line were making facebook groups about them saying how amazing they were.

But then i became an OAP at 20 Alfred

yeah i guess you are right i would love them to remake SMTV Live but it wouldnt be the same as we have such high expectations of it i would love it if they did work with Cat again on a new show they had such great chemistry together it was something reallly special

If ITV do have to make cut backs they should just repeat SMTV Live Very Happy

it would be a cheap alternative to some of the rubbish they are showing now

i agree, when i first became a fan of smtv i was never just an ant & dec fan i was an ant, dec and cat fan! To me it wasnt a duo it was a trio that made the show and i kinda wish that Cat had left with the boys because the lads always get the credit for SMTV which isnt right because Cat was amazing too!

I think Cat found it hard to host SMTV with out Ant and Dec as she didnt stay very long after they left maybe she should have left with the lads and just hosted cduk

It's a shame Cat didnt do Slap Bang with Ant and Dec as it was kinda a grown up version of SMTV and although i enjoyed it i didnt think it was great because it was missing something and i think that something was Cat.
Beers didnt seem to work even though they had proper actors in it there wasnt the chemistry like the lads had with Cat in chums

I found a clip of that in my vid collection a while back- Dec came out at the start of the show dressed as a cabbage (?!) and sang a song about cabbages with little kids dressed as brussels sprouts (?!) and then lectured Ant about the different types of cabbages and how they are unappreciated... Confused

I watched it thinking "no wonder it failed!"

i loved slap bang at the time and could not understand why it was doing so badly in the ratings war! Ant & Dec saying innuendo *tee hee hee*

looking back now what balls it was Alfred

it started at about 7 then by th elast show it was on at 5.30, the legendy "this programme is too rubbish to be shown in primetime" slot.

I wish they'd do another secret camera show, I loved the stunt the lads did in the hotel it was like Ant and Dec undercover in the making!

the only thing i can rmeember about it is the titles were in black and white and there was a close up of ant doing up his shirt Alfred

apart from that all i can remember was ant getting drunk in a pub, mentioning a rather large toilet and having a cat called bunty Alfred
