Ok so how much snow did everyone get? In about 3 hours today we got 4 inches of snow and overall we must of had about 7 inches in totally, but in Aberdeenshire there was 4 foot snowdrifts.

I can't believe the sky news has made it there top story about the snow, i think London was hit hard as they weren't prepared for it. But we're use to it as we get this every year. I had a friend who didn't believe we had snow up here as it wasn't mentioned on the news....lol

On Monday literally there was no news apart from the snow! It was all GMTV could come up with, all the lunchtime news could come up with- the only explaination you can give is that all the researchers couldnt get into work so the presenters looked at each other and went "well its snowed a bit!"

in Hampshire we had about 2 inches, so not the worst but enough to cripple everything! the thing i dont get is on the weather all last week they were going "and remember snows forcast on monday be prepared because its gonna snow all week" monday comes and everyones like "what? snow? no one said anything" Alfred

We've just had snow after snow all week, was walking to school and did a Tod carty across the main road, My youngest fell a record 29 times! My oldest shit herself she was gonna slip and theres me walking down a slight slope one kid in each hand as I just slided down it Laughing

I was quite shocked UPS still turned up for a collection by my postman hasnt been around, wierd enough he delivered my post at the worst time of the snow but not when its fine Confused
Same with the school actually opened on the wrong day to go home at 1pm closed when the whether was fine.

I hated the snow, my buggy wheels litrally was under the snow (They are quite big).

My son did throw a tantrum though, chucked him self to the floor, forgot about the snow, I looked and found a joe shaped hole in a big pile of snow Laughing Laughing Laughing had to dig the bugger out.

Awwww! Were they excited for the snow too?
Your little ones are so cute!

We had about 7ins (not 7ft!) of snow on Monday and the whole transport system died- one bus crashed in Central London so ALL the buses were taken off the road- trains services cancelled, etc. I had no way of getting into work (the show at my theatre was cancelled anyway!)- my poor boss had to walk to work for an hour and a half!

Aw thanks Smile my little nutters them two! They are obsessed with Ant and Dec smiling, its wierd, they keep going through the biography pointing at "happy pictures" Laughing

Sounds bad down there nisha, we had a 5 car pile up on the only road up here, was quite scary as I knew my mum was driving up that way at the same time.

The kids seem to just wonder WTF's that! We've had a few snowball fights Laughing They think its fun till its my turn to throw.

This week IVe been checking my pathway for footprints (dont ask why) but one afternoon I got out of the car and notice 2 wheel tracks, im thinking, who's been? Im thinking and thinking, I know it wasnt me as my buggy hadn't been used yet. So an hour later it clicked.....Id pulled in the wheely bin that morning Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

Been harsh people have dumped cars at the top of the hill being too scared to go down, My bins were emptied thursday but at the next street they did it friday so it must of been cancelled, thankgod mine was done, I have mine filled to the brink.

Anyone remember the last big snow like this? I was 4 Shocked

Last time hadreally bad snow up here was about 4 years ago, we get snow every year about 2-4 inches so we always have a bad day but in aberdeenshire it does get bad and they had 4 foot (yeah foot) snowdrifts. Last night it was mental - our airport was closed for 3 hours, the whole citry was gridlocked and the footie has been called off today..sob.

But 4 years ago it was even worse than we have it at the moment, the whole of Aberdeen was cut of, all the roads blocked, the airport shut and the ferries cancelled so there was no way in and no way out.

Awwww your kids sound so cute Chaz, i love having snowball fights

I officially hate snow! always have done

my dad works for the highways agency so its a nightmare for him and thats probably why i hate it

we had 4 inches of snow yesterday all the roads into work were totally clear but the boss had to tow our cars into the yard with a tractor Laughing because it was so slippery

i get so annoyed with the media making such a big deal out of it and continually blaming the council for the state of the roads when its a very difficult job keeping all the roads clear all the time i personally think they have done an exceptional job and deserve some credit

Thanks sweetie, i will take care, i have to get to work until next saturday. Shocked

We've had a big dollop of snow today but unlike some parts of the uk, ours has never been reported on the news. I love it when it is all nice and white but hate it when it turns to slush and starts melting.

Your right things need to be taught, people say "we dont have snow that much so no need" but other things like we have loads of cannals and train tracks with no fencing about, I was taught never go in the canal you can get pulled under, then a lad in my year decided to go for a swim and died, yes his old mates 2 years later went back!

Same with buss's a lads year below me,2 days before his 13th bday, he decided to jump on a moving double decker to press the "door open" button.
He slipped and went under, the bus carried on thinking he hit the curb. The driver found out the lad died when he got to the station, he needed sadating and gave up his job. The lad left his 3 year old sister behind Sad

Common sence is a must in this place.

wow that is awful

i think when your a kid you think your invinsable and just dont think what your doing but if they are shown what can happen it can only help

i remember those old electricity pylon videos we were shown at school and always think how dangerous they are when i see them now same with the seat belt adverts now yes they are graphic and scary but they work

I agree Eric, we were showed videos of dead people after car crashes and what like but everyone else just laughed Rolling Eyes

So many regulations etc, the new cross road advert (you know with the kids and broken legs like cartoons) I didnt think they really made a point but I explained it to my oldest when it came on and explained and she understood it, so I guess it must work. Better then the stupid hedgehog one.
